Sample Collection: DNA samples are usually collected using a buccal swab, where cells are gathered from the inside of the cheek of both the child and the alleged father. In some cases, blood samples can also be used.
Laboratory Analysis: The collected samples are sent to a lab, where they are analyzed for specific genetic markers. The lab looks at these markers to see if there is a match between the child and the alleged father.
Result Interpretation: The results typically indicate either a 99.9% probability of paternity (meaning the man is the biological father) or a 0% probability (meaning the man is not the biological father).
